Arsenal sign David Luiz from Chelsea
David Luiz completed his move to Arsenal from Chelsea yesterday. He did not train on Wednesday with the Chelsea first team squad to force his move to Arsenal. Chelsea allowed the Brazilian defender to leave after agreeing a fee of £8M with Arsenal.
The 32 year old defender joins penned a two year contract at the Emirates stadium. He is among the new arrivals that have been signed by Arsenal. Other players signed by Arsenal include Nicolas Pepe from Lille, Kieran Tierney from Celtic and Daniel Ceballos from Real Madrid on loan.
He is a replacement for Laurent Koscielny who left Arsenal to join Bordeaux.
David Luiz previously played under Arsenal manager Unai Emery at Paris Saint Germain. David Luiz can also play as a defensive midfielder.
Luiz will wear shirt number 23 at Arsenal which was initially worn by Danny Welbeck.
