Arsenal have announced that Lucas Torreira sustained a fractured ankle during Monday’s FA Cup tie against Portsmouth.
James Bolton tackled Torreira and he had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher.
The Uruguay international left Fratton Park on crutches wearing a protective boot after the Gunners moved into the quarter finals with a 2-0 win.
On Thursday, Arsenal confirmed that the 24-year old sustained a break and a recovery plan will be determined following ‘specialist reviews’.
Arsenal will travel to Sheffield United for the Quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
