Arsenal and Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira is set to miss in action for up to 10 weeks after fracturing his ankle.
Torreira was injured during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Portsmouth in the FA Cup last week. He left the pitch wearing a protective boot.
Scans by Arsenal medical staff reveal that he sustained a fracture that will take between eight and ten weeks to heal, meaning he could miss the remainder of the Gunners’ Premier League and FA Cup campaigns.
Arsenal will play Manchester City on Wednesday with a list of injury concerns, with Calum Chambers(knee injury), Sead Kolasinac(Shoulder) and Cedric Soares(Knee) all out while Shkodran Mustafi(thigh) faces a late fitness test.
Arsenal are eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and are hoping to secure Champions League football next season.
