Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has tested positive for Covid-19.
‘’I didn’t have any symptoms, I decided to take a test as I was planning to visit the frontline,’’ Mr Pashinyan said in a video on Facebook live.
He confirmed that his whole family was also infected.
‘’Unfortunately, our test is positive, although I didn’t show any symptoms.’’
Armenia saw its biggest daily spike in coronavirus cases on Friday last week -460 – but Pashinyan said the government was not planning to lock-down measures.
Armenia has a population of about three million people.
According to data compiled by John Hopkins University, more than 9,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Armenia with the virus claiming 131 lives.
