The 170- carat pink diamond was found by Angola miners on Wednesday. The diamond is said to be the largest in over 300 years. The rare diamond was found at Lulo mines and the Lucapa Diamond Company named it the type lla diamond.
The 170-carat diamond will be sold at international tender and is expected to sell at dazzling price. Angola Government also is a partner in the mine. The Angola’s Minister of Mineral Resources said the record broken by the diamond continues to show case Angola as an important player in the world stage.
A similar pink diamond that was 59.6 carat was sold in auction for 71.2 million US dollars.
