An Indian man, 55, beheaded his wife, 45, after suspecting her of having an extramarital affair and later trekked for 15 kilometers to the nearest police station carrying the severed head.
This happened in Chandrasekharpul in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on July 15.
The video showing the man carrying his wife’s head has gone viral online.
Police arrested the suspect as he was walking with the severed head to Gonida police station in Dhenkanal district.
The man was later identified as Nakaphodi Majhi, a resident of Chandrasekharpur village and his wife was Sachala Majhi to whom he had been married for 25 years. They have two children who stay elsewhere.
According to the police, Nakaphodi suspected Sachala’s infidelity and often fought with her. For a long time, they spent most of their time quarreling with each other.
Nakaphodi killed his wife around 3.30 am to 4:00 am on Friday morning. He split her throat with a sharp weapon known as Katuri. On his was to the police station, villagers arrested him and called the Joranda Police who responded and arrested him. Police also obtained the weapon and the severed head.
The case is undergoing more investigations.
