Amb. Ukur Yattani appointed as acting CS for National Treasury Kenya
President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Ambassador Ukur Yattani as the acting Cabinet Secretary for Kenya National Treasury. He is replacing Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich who is facing corruption charges alongside his Principal Secretary Dr. Kamau Thugge.
Ambassador Ukur Yattani was elected and served as the first governor of Marsabit County. He has previously served as a district Officer, District Commissioner, Member of Parliament for North Horr Constituency and Cabinet Secretary for Labor among other posts.
“I am aware that the task ahead is enormous and the expectation is high on the side of Kenyans. I will strive to ensure the fiscal soundness of the economy by giving priority to the areas that will support the government’s Big Four Agenda and realization of vision 2030,” Said Ambassador Ukur Yattani following his appointment as acting Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury.
Dr. Kamau Thugge was replaced by Dr. Julius Mwanzi Muia.
