AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has become the first manager in the English top-flight to take a voluntary pay cut amid the ongoing Coronavirus crisis.
Howe’s assistant Jason Tindall, Chief Executive Neill Blake and technical director Richard Hughes have also taken pay cuts.
AFC Bournemouth issued a statement on twitter: ‘’The club can confirm that Chief Executive Neill Blake, first team technical director Richard Hughes and assistant manager Jason Tindall have taken significant, voluntary pay cuts.”

Bournemouth have also placed a number of staff on paid leave using the government’s furlough scheme. Through the scheme, the workers will be paid 80% of their wages and the club will top-up the remainder.
Other Premier League sides that have placed their non-football staff on furlough are Norwich City, Tottenham Hotspurs and Newcastle United.
The Cherries sit at position 18 in the Premier League table with 27 points after 29 games.
