AFC Bournemouth beat Southampton FC 3-1 in a Premier League match that was played yesterday at the St Mary’s Stadium. The match attracted over 30,000 fans.
AFC Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Harry Wilson added the second in the 35th minute. The game headed into halftime with Bournemouth 2-0 up.
Southampton’s James Ward Prowse scored one for the hosts 8 minutes into the second half. Callumn Wilson wrapped up the win for the visitors by scoring in the 90th minute.
Southampton FC however dominated the game with an average ball possession of 64% compared to AFC Bournemouth’s 36. Southampton also managed a total of 15 shots compared to 5 of Bournemouth.
The win now moves AFC Bournemouth to position 3 in the Premier League table with 10 points. Southampton remain at position 11 with 7 points after 6 matches.
