Demi Minor, who is serving a 30-year sentence for stabbing her foster father to death was transferred to Garden State Youth Correctional Facility from Edna Mahan Correctional Facility where she impregnated he two fellow inmates.
She complained that she was misgendered and abused by the guards at the transfer moment. She claimed that she was being targeted by the correctional police officers who asked her to strip and be searched by a woman. She added that the guards called her ‘a he’ for over 30 times.
Although she had been transferred to men’s prison, she insists that she is nothing else but a woman who happens to be transgender.
‘[The department of corrections] has violated my right to be safe and free from sexual harassment, by putting me in one of the most violent youth correctional facilities,’ Minor wrote.
‘While living here at GYSC, I have found myself under attack by young inmates who are immature and just plain ignorant towards a person like me.’Minor added.
Minor also said that not only the guards who mistreated her but also the fellow inmates who are arrogant
‘ … yet they said that I am here for safety no please understand that I am here for punishment, just the sad part is this punishment may kill me,’ Minor complained.
A source said that there is some time set aside for the purpose of recreation. This time is being utilised by the inmates to have quick sex because during this time, doors are left unlocked.
Minor started to transform into a woman in the year 2020 and since then, things started to turn around.
