Sharing is Caring

A man has just been jailed for 16 years for pulling down and burning an LGBTIQ flag in the United States of America.

The man who was identified as Adolfo Martinez, 30, comes from Iowa. He was sentenced for hate crime of arson. Out of his 16 year sentence, one year was for reckless use of fire and 30 days will be for harassment.

The man was arrested back in June 2019 and convicted in Nov 2019. He pulled down the flag from United Church of Christ in Ames. He burned that flag because he was against homosexuality.

When he was interviewed by a local Television station, he said the following:

“It is my honor, it is written, it is a judgment and it is written to execute vengeance on the heathen and punishments upon the people. It is my honor to do so, and it is an honor to that. It is a blessing from the Lord, plain and simple,” Said Aldolfo Martinez.

After he was sentenced, Martinez was asked if he was planning to repeal the case which he said: “No, I’m guilty, I’m guilty as charged, I say it live. Knowingly, willingly and intentionally did I do that. I burned down their pride, plain and simple.”

Correction: Adolfo Martinez was not sentenced for 16 years for burning LGBTQ flag but because of the previous crimes he committed.
