Sharing is Caring

SpaceX of Elon Musk has launched a private mission to the moon. On board of the SpaceX rocket were two lunar landers built by private companies in US and Japan.

This was part of a ride share to the moon. Falcon 9 rocket took off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Wednesday carrying the two landers which belong to Firefly Aerospace and iSpac.

The said landers will conduct independent missions to the moon. That means they will separate at some point after leaving Falcon 9 rocket owned and operated by SpaceX.

The lunar lander owned by Firefly is named Blue Ghost. It’s expected to land on the surface of the moon some 45 days after separating with the SpaceX rocket.
