Ten (10) old estates in Mombasa will be redeveloped. These are: Tudor, Khadija, Miritini, Greenfields, Changamwe, Likoni, Nyerere, Mzizima, Buxton, Tom Mboya, Kaa Chonjo and Kizingo Estates.

In 2015/2017, Mombasa County government allocated Ksh. 70 million for sensitization of Mombasa residents on issues of Urban Renewal.

For instance, in 2013/2014 Mombasa County collected Ksh. 557,463,605 million from land and housing.
