Tesla’s Giga Shanghai Factory in China is reported to be producing one car every 30 seconds.
That translates to 2,900 electric vehicles every day and 20,100 EVs every week.
That is insane!
The Giga Factory has capacity to build 750,000 electric vehicles every year. The factory was expanded and in 2023 it produced 947,000 Electric vehicles out of the total 1,300,000 produced by Tesla globally.
Tesla owns the factory but does not own the land on which it is constructed.
The factory is located in Lingang Industrial Zone in Pudong District of Shanghai. The factory produces Model 3 and Model Y for the countries which do not have a Tesla Gigafactory. This is the main export center for Tesla.
