Kisii County executive was given a Qualified opinion for the year under review. This means that if it were not for a few issues identified during the audit report the auditor would have given the county a clean bill of health in terms of the accuracy of its financial statements.
Ksh. 134.4 million was received as a conditional grant for free maternity healthcare. This is a conditional grant from the national government for all counties. Despite receiving Ksh. 134.4 million, the executive was allocated Ksh. 194.6 million hence leaving an amount of Ksh. 60.2 million at the national treasury. No explanation was given to the auditors on that matter.
