A special investigations panel of Central Bank of Nigeria and related entities has found out that an ex-governor, Godwin Emefiele, illegally kept billions of Naira in 593 bank accounts located in China, USA and UK.
The panel was led by Jim Obazee, the special investigator, who revealed that the ex-governor deposited £543.4 million in UK banks alne. He did not have approval from the banks board of directors or investment committee to do so.
