Japanese billionaire Tadako Nakatani has a net of $1.1 billion. She is the widow of Taro Nakatani who founded Sysmex (medical testing equipment manufacturer) which was a subsidiary of Toa Electric in 1968 as an electrical equipment manufacturer.

 

Taro Nakatani died in 1984, he was leading research, development and manufacture of medical equipment in the 1960s.

 

Currently, his son-in-law Hisashu Ietsugu is the president of the company but he joined in 1986.

 

Sysmex was listed on Osaka Stock Exchange  and Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1996 and 2000 respectively.

 

The company generated $3 billion in revenues for the financial year ending March 2024.
