The elders (Kikuyu) in Trans Nzoia have a different opinion to that of Rigathi Gachagua on who should be endorsed as the Governor.
Gachagua who is the Presidential running mate in United Democratic Alliance coalition, is behind Chris Wamalwa for gubernatorial seat in Trans Nzoia.
On the other hand, the elders have the opinion that is contrary to Gachagua’s opinion. Wamalwa is the Member of Parliament in Kiminini constituency.
Instead, they said they will follow their kingpin, President Uhuru Kenyatta, on who they should support in the incoming general elections.
They are now endorsing George Natembeya for gubernatorial seat as directed by the President.
“It is crystal clear that Gachagua’s credibility in endorsing Wamalwa as governor and Deputy President William Ruto for president has had a technical knockout. We cannot take orders from you since you are not our spokesman,” Koimburi said.
According to the elders, they were also directed to support Raila, under Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition for Presidential seat.
Given that Rigathi Gachagua is the DP Ruto’s presidential running mate, the elders are supporting the opposite.
