Vincent Mbwanga Misango, 56, died on the process trying to stop his elder brother’s fight over omena. Including Vincent, the three brothers had come to visit their mother in a village located in Seregea sub-location.
One of the brothers had already finished his share and was demanding for an addition. The other brother disagreed and this broke into a fighting scene where the younger brother had to intervene. He was accidentally hit with a blunt object on his head and fell to the ground immediately.
He was immediately taken to the nearest hospital but did not survive the damages caused by the object and died on arrival at the health facility. Police commander at Likuyani sub-county said that the brother who caused the death has been arrested and is in police custody. The assistant chief in Seregea sub-county said that it was a shocking incident to see grown-ups fight over a meal of omena.
