The Olympic games in Tokyo will not have spectators. This is due to the state of emergency put in place by Tokyo city due to Covid-19. 

The Japanese Prime Minister, Yoshide Suga, confirmed that the Olympics will be held under a state of emergency. 

The State of Emergency in Tokyo will run from July 12 to August 22 covering the 16 days of the Olympic games in Tokyo. Olympics will end on August 8. 

Alcohol will not be served in restaurants during the state of emergency period. 

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) president, Thomas Bach,  landed in Tokyo and is under a 3-day self-isolation in his hotel. 

So far so good, only 15 percent of Japan’s population is fully vaccinated compared to nearly 50 percent in UK.
