President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Minister for Basic Education Ms Angie Motshekga to serve as Acting President on Friday, 2 July 2021.
The main reason for that is that the president is preparing to attend the state funeral burial of the late President Kenneth Kaunda.
The Deputy President David Mabuza is currently receiving medical treatment in Russia.
Kenneth Kaunda died of Pneumonia in June at the age of 97.
Kaunda will be buried next week at a private ceremony and with invited guests only.
