The citizens of Myanmar are protesting against the military coup and the military is cracking down on them. Now the military has occupied hospitals and universities in preparation for a crackdown.
The military junta seized power in a coup on Feb 1 and now they are resisting protests. Sounds of gunfire was reported in many districts of Yangon on both Saturday and Sunday.
The military junta is now arresting and torturing people. The military occupation of hospitals brings fear to protesters because they won’t find anywhere to be treated if they get injured during the protests.
“Such activity is completely unacceptable. Hospitals are locations under the protection of international humanitarian law.”
The Physicians for Human Rights, an international group, condemned the “invasion and occupation of public hospitals and wanton excessive force against civilians.”
