The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is asking people to use alternatives to Johnson and Johnson such as Pfizer and Moderna. This is because the vaccine produced by Janssen a company of Johnson & Johnson arguing that the vaccine has moral issues because it uses aborted fetal cells.
On Friday, the Archdiocese of New Orleans released a similar statement that stated that “the latest vaccine from Janssen is morally compromised.”
On Saturday, Johnson & Johnson vaccine received an emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration.
Johnson & Johnson did not take that attack lying down, they released a statement to Fox News defending their research.
“There is no fetal tissue in our Janssen COVID-19 vaccine. Our COVID-19 vaccine is an inactivated/non-infective adenovirus vector (similar to a cold virus), which codes for the coronavirus ‘spike’ (S) protein,” a statement by Johnson & Johnson read in part.
