Stoke City are set to sign former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel on a one-year contract.
He is set to have a medical at the start of next week.
The 33-year-old is a free agent after he left Turkish club Trabzonspor in March.
Obi Mikel left Chelsea in 2017 after making 249 Premier League appearances for the Premier League side.
At Stamford Bridge, Mikel won two Premier League titles, a champions League, a Europa League, three FA Cups and a League Cup.
Mikel joined Chinese side Tianjin TEDA after leaving Stamford Bridge.
He also had a brief spell at Middlesbrough in 2019 before joining Trabzonspor.
He made a total of 89 appearances for Nigeria national team, playing in two World Cups.
He was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
Stoke City, who are managed by former North Ireland head coach Michael O’Neill finished 15th in the 2019-20 Championship season.
Obi Mikel will become the fourth summer signing of the Potters.
