According to a recent study, the Chinese authorities have been reported to be conducting forced sterilizations of women in a campaign to prevent the growth of ethnic minority populations in western part of Xinjiang region.
The study, reported that a number of policy documents, interviews with ethnic minority women and official data have been used as evidence to call for investigations on China on this matter.
This new move is likely to enrage Chinese authorities who have been accused of trampling the rights of ethnic minorities more especially in Xinjiang. In their response they called these allegations as “baseless.”
