AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio will be out of action for four months after undergoing an ankle surgery.
The club announced last week that Musacchio would undergo a surgery but did not confirm how long he’ll be out.
Musacchio, 29, will not play Milan’s remaining serie A games of the 2019-20 season and will also miss the start of next season.
‘’AC Milan announces that Mateo Musacchio has undergone a keyhole surgery to his left ankle, performed by Prof. Ramon Kugat, with club doctor, Dr Lucio Genesio, in attendance,’’ the club’s statement read.
‘’The surgeon pronounced himself satisfied with the operation. The estimated recovery time is four months, barring any complications.’’
Musacchio has made 18 appearances for Milan this season.
Stefano Pioli’s side sit seventh in the Serie A table and will play AS Roma at San Siro on Saturday.

There is no way he will remain a Milan player at the start of next season. I’m sure the management will offload him in the transfer window
