The road block showing where Nairobi Metropolitan covers has been a slippery ground.
At the beginning of travel restrictions, the road block was placed at Rironi to control the traffic into and out of Nairobi.
Now that road block manned by General Service Unit was moved past Nyambari trading center. It is at the valley which the climbing lane starts before you get to view point.
To me this does not make sense considering that now Public Service Vehicles (PSV) are plying the route Limuru-Nairobi City. This may be one of the reasons why there are increasing cases of Covid-19 in Kiambu County.
If I was a policy maker in charge of implementing these travel restrictions I could have maintained the road block at Rironi.
The road blocks as usual are porous. People walk on foot and catch a matatu a head. There have been reports of greasing the elbows of the police to get a passage.
These are some of the challenges which need to be addressed by the street level bureaucrats.
