Protests can sometimes change into dangerous events. This is because police can use tear gas, batons, fists and batons.

Even during protests, healthcare providers come on board to offer their services. Medical teams are mobilized even for peaceful protests because sometimes people get heard due to being in a massive crowd.

Rapid medical assistance is a necessity for protests. It does not matter whether Black Lives Matter their aim is to help people who get injured.

People across the world are protesting racism as well as police violence meted on black Americans. This followed the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Recent media reports have shown that the police are now targeting healthcare personnel, journalists as well as those who deliver food to protesters.

We all know that police brutality is wrong but when it is meted on medical professionals offering essential services, then something is wrong.

Recently, police fired lead pellets at medics and injured protesters in Austin, Texas.

According to Left Voice on Twitter, Mike Pappas a doctor was arrested by the New York Police Department in Bronx during the #BlackLivesMatter protest.

Huff Post also reported that in North Carolina, police officers destroyed a tent which had been set my medical doctors to offer their assistance. In addition to that they also prevented volunteers from supplying water to the protesters. The police destroyed the water packs by stepping on them and pricking them using sharp objects.
