Turkish Super League leaders Trabzonspor have been banned from participating in European football for one season for breaching UEFA Financial Fair play regulations.
The European football governing body said on Wednesday that the club had failed to meet the conditions of a 2016 settlement agreement which required them to be ‘’break-even compliant’’.
UEFA confirmed the ban would be applied if the club qualified for the Champions League or the Europa League in either of the next two seasons.
Trabzonspor are on top of the Turkish Super League table, with 8 games remaining. The Turkish Super was suspended in March due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
