Prince Joachim, who contracted coronavirus after attending a party in Spain during lockdown has apologised and will accept the consequences.
Prince Joachim is a nephew of Belgium’s King Philippe.
The 28-year-old travelled to Spain on May 26 for internship and attended a party in Cordoba two days later thus flouting lockdown rules.
He later tested positive for Covid-19 and was placed in quarantine.
Prince Joachim is said to have mild symptoms of Covid-19.
‘’I deeply regret my actions,’’ Prince Joachim said in a statement on Sunday.

Cordoba lockdown rules do not permit a gathering of more than 15 people.
‘’I apologise for not respecting quarantine measures during my trip, His statement reads, adding:’’ In these difficult times I did not want to offend anyone.’’
All those found to have breached the regulations will be fined up to €10,000.
According to data collected by John Hopkins University, Spain had confirmed 239,479 cases as of Sunday. 27,127 deaths are connected with the virus.
