World Health Organization (WHO) has warned people against using local and untested remedies for Coronavirus.
This advice comes after 3 countries said they are ready to import large quantities of herbal medicine from Madagascar. Madagascar president Andry Rajoelina claims it can cure the virus.
In a statement, WHO says it welcomes the use of traditional medicines in the search of potential treatments but they must be thoroughly tested.
President Rajoelina launched the product based on the Artemisia plant last month when it had been tested on less than 20 people. Clinical tests are underway.
WHO previously said that international trials were underway to find an effective treatment for Coronavirus.
