Carlos Tevez helped Boca Juniors clinch Argentinean Primera Division title with a 1-0 win over Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata on Saturday.
Tevez scored in the 72nd minute with a 20-yard strike giving Boja Juniors a narrow victory over Diego Maradona’s side.
The win meant that Boca Juniors finished on top of the table by a point after rivals River Plate were held to a 1-1 draw by Atletico Tucuman.
Boca have now won 34 titles, edging closer to River Plate’s record of 36.
It was Tevez’s 9th goal in 17 appearances this season, with Gimnasia y Esgrima goalkeeper unable to stop his powerful strike.
