Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that his mother is stable and recovering in hospital after reports emerged that she suffered a stroke.
The Juventus and Portugal forward did not attend Juve’s training session on Tuesday and it was reported that he had travelled back to Portugal due to his mother falling sick.
Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri confirmed that the striker could miss Wednesday’s Coppa Italia clas with Milan due to a personal problem and did not give further information.
Ronaldo tweeted: ‘’Thank you for all your messages of support for my mum, She is currently stable and recovering in hospital.
‘’Me and my family would like to thank the medical team looking after her, and kindly ask that we are all given some privacy at this time.’’
