Sharing is Caring

The United States Department of Agriculture has listed the fictional state of Wakanda as a free-trade partner. However, as you may be aware, the nation does not exist.

Wakanda is a fictional state which according to Black Panther film is found in East Africa. The fictional country was adapted into a film in 2018.

According to an online tracker which listed the goods traded between the United States and Wakanda included dairy cows, ducks and donkeys.

Francis Tseng, a software engineer, based in NYC was the first one to point this one out. He came across Wakanda as a listed country when he was looking for information to help him apply for a fellowship.

The USDA spokesperson indicated that the country was listed accidently when the department staff were conducting a test.

After media houses started raising questions, Wakanda was pulled down from the online listing.
