This evening I attended the access to information gala dinner to interact with practioners who are promotig access to information for sustainable development. Many topics around access to information were on the agenda. Participants raised questions about the available opportunities for people to engage with journalists.
Many people are not aware of their right to access information held by the state. There were calls to make the reports more comprehensible.
Load them on platforms where they can be accessed. One of the practical ways to engage with journalists is to supply them with information.
Do an index of organizations which are compliant with access to information.
What is Transparency doing on access to information?
How can governments be compiled to provide information?
Every citizen should write to state agencies which are not providing information. There is also an option of engaging in Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to compel the state to provide information.
