The pioneer philosopher, Prof. Sophie Oluwole has been reported dead at 83 years old.
According to a blog article by Linda Ikeji, Sophie Oluwole ,aka mamalawo, died at 8 pm on 23 December after suffering from illness.
Sophie Oluwole was the first Nigerian woman to earn a PhD in Philosophy and she was a leading practitioner of Yoruba philosophy.
Professor Sophie Oluwole was a professor at the University of Lagos from 2002 to 2008.
